Tommy As somebody who isn't particularly a Folk music fan I can say that I was pleased with purchasing this EP.

The songs are varied enough to make it very interesting while at the same time having similar staples to make it sound like it's from the same album.

Robert is a proficient and skilled guitar player, however technique never takes precedence over the melody and composition which makes this EP both easy to listen to and technically astonishing.

I'd highly recommend this to anyone. 5/5 Favorite track: A Little Cloud.

Si Hough I am a big fan of this EP. I am relatively new to this genre but found all the songs to be brilliant. It has chilled me out after many stressful days. My favourite song is A little cloud. Though all songs are simply beautiful. A bargain even though I did pay a bit extra voluntarily. Been lucky enough to see Rob play a few times, he always astonishes me with his guitar skills and he has a superb voice.

A must buy - A hidden gem Favorite track: A Little Cloud.

about

'Afterglow' is the materialisation of a long awaited dream to record my own solo music. Recorded throughout 2014, it is a collection of songs - set to the backdrop of many alternate tunings - reflecting on time, dreams, human feelings, and how they are symbolised and healed by the transcendent simplicity and reverie of nature. I hope you get as much pleasure listening to the album as I did recording it!

Equally fulfilling to listen to in a dark, candle lit room with the rain pouring on the window. or whilst the sun is shining in the countryside.

Dedicated to the memory of Bob Southam and John Mason.

Track Name: Mid-Year Fall
Here we are at midyear, my whole world grew red.
You and me, myself and I, are all the things we've said.
And as the tears roll down your face, and as they start to fall.
Could this be just another, another mid-year fall?

When you think you’re going somewhere, but you’re going nowhere at all
Do you give up, or do you let yourself fall?
And when the destiny inside your head realises it’s only there
Do you give up, or realise you still care?

The fire burns, the clock it turns, the hands are winding down.
The wick has gone for another year, in the dark I’m sliding down.
And as they fall you feel so small, down your cheeks they run.
Do you think, there’ll come a time; the rising of the sun?

When you think you’re going somewhere, but you’re going nowhere at all
Do you give up, or do you let yourself fall?
And when the destiny inside your head realises it’s only there
Do you give up, or realise you still care?

Between the sky are the things we hide, and all the things unseen.
The blossom grows where the winters blown, and the trodden leaves have been.
And when it grows between your toes, will the grass be green?
Wipe your eyes and start to rise, be what you've always been.

When you think you’re going somewhere, but you’re going nowhere at all
Do you give up, or do you let yourself fall?
And when the destiny inside your head realises it’s only there
Do you give up, or realise you still care?
Track Name: A Little Cloud
Looking, looking at the sky,
Watching the clouds roll by,
And all I can do is sigh.

The morning, the morning mildew,
Wash eight shy years from you.

‘Cause it’s a little, a little,
Cloud full of rain.

Do it for you,
For no-one else can,
Cure you,
From your lifespan.
Do it for you,
For no-one else can,
Pull through.

‘Cause it’s a little, a little,
Cloud full of rain.

A lonely reed, standing in a pond,
As the wind waves it wand,
And chills your bonds.

A snow flake, a snow flake falls on you,
As fortune's left you blue.

‘Cause it's a little, a little,
Cloud full of rain.

Whose eyes,
In what picture shall I marry?
How heavy the burden I carry
There’s no more use now,
Sadly.

‘Cause I'm a little, a little,
A little, a little,
It’s a little, a little,
Cloud full of rain.
Track Name: Riverbank Dream
Floating down the stream,
On the banks I see blue and green.
Hanging on the leaves of a willow,
Are the thoughts found in a pillow.

Oh, the nights are so long,
But hold on to that riverbank dream.

Looking in the deep I see,
Pearls of wisdom in its keep.
There’s a man, all alone he weeps,
Hush now stranger, you may sleep.

Oh, the nights are so long,
But hold on to that riverbank dream.

We’re all in motion,
At different points.
Yet the river runs on,
In its regular voice.
The tide keeps on flowing,
With no stopping points.
I no longer recognise the bank of my life.
The river of time erodes so much.

Floating down the stream,
On the banks I see blue and green.
There lies a stranger under a willow.
Until next time; I rise from my pillow

Oh, the nights are so long,
But hold on to that riverbank dream.
Track Name: Mess
Smoke and mirrors; the things between.
Life’s a room of curtains and dreams.
Beneath the sheets are things obscene,
Or are they just a weaving of beings?
Between the sky are the things we hide,
In confident leaps and stinging pride.
We sing our songs of thoughtful chimes.
In rehashed lines and time old rhymes.

What was it that you said to me?
I wish that you were here so that I could see.
What was it? What did you say?
Sometimes God just gives people words to say.
You were like a firework shot up in the sky,
No chance to say goodbye.
The question is: did you fall to earth?
Or did you stay in the sky so very high?

The question is what was it for?
You’re a mess and it hurts to see.
I hope you’re looking down so free.
And see that you live on in me.
I've heard everything that I have said
All the thoughts inside my head.
And as I lay upon this bed,
Are there anymore words that can be said?

What was it that you said to me?
I wish that you were here so that I could see.
What was it? What did you say?
Sometimes God just gives people words to say.
You were like a firework shot up in the sky,
No chance to say goodbye.
The question is: did you fall to earth?
Or did you stay in the sky so very high?

And shine with the stars.

Track Name: Afterglow
Paints you still on sluggish dreams.
A fire light on the foothill side,
Shines on still, as it seems.
The shadows grew and the warmth it cried.

A magic wrought of dying dreams.
A wizard light that creeps and glows;
Painting hills and sluggish streams,
In tints of gold and rose.

I’d like to leave an echo.
I’d like to leave an afterglow.
I’d like to leave an echo.
I’d like to leave an afterglow.

Staining with fire the cherry-snow,
Lighting our hearts with sudden flame
As if the love of long ago,
Back from its ashes came.

Rose-flushed and radiant,
Joy and hope are born anew;
Even the darting swallow's wing
Has caught its glowing hue.
Soon the horizon will hide today.
The heart is wise but won’t let go;
It's not love that lights our way –
Only its afterglow.

I’d like to leave an echo.
I’d like to leave an afterglow.
I’d like to leave an echo.
I’d like to leave an afterglow.
I’d like to leave an echo.
I’d like to leave an afterglow.
I'd like to leave an echo.
I'd like to leave an afterglow.
